The begining of coffee history we have to search in very distant antiquity and it is winded around with lyric legends.
In IV - VII century of our era Jemena was in domain of Ethiopia. It was the place where people started to make drink named "hesheer" for the first time. They were using mature, dried out coffee fruit mildness, which was grinded with casing. After that arabs began to prepare coffee drink from dried out , roasted and grinded seeds of coffee fruits. They also produced a method how to make well known drink, named "East coffee".
Coffee started its triumph procession all over the world from Jemena. It is clear, because Jemena was the center of Near and Eastern trade ways. Caravans of camels were delivering pepper, nutmegs, cinnamon, carnations, coffee and other exotic commodities usind these trade ways. In fuss of market areas it was possible to meet men who were playing drums on coffee roasting pans. They were playing "Mahmas al ka - va". Using this music they tried to make passers-by to enter the cafes. The priests of moslems rose a fight against the "Black African drink". In 1611 coffee was damned by law, ruller of Meka closed all cafes and ordered to burn all supplies of coffee. However, no harshness was good enough to stop the victory procession of coffee. It conquered one state after secound.
People in Europe were aquainted to coffee by italian doctor Prosper Alpinus. The first cafe in Europe was opened in 1646 in Venice. The merchants of non-alcoholic and other traditional drinks suffered losses, because of this dangerous competition. Thats why they started a fight against coffee. Christians supported merchants in this fight, but the government and kings did not forbid coffee, because it was assessed with various taxes that gave big profits to state cashdesk. The king kept a large state of "coffee spies" to fight against propaganda.
Coffee overcame all obstacles. Bigger and smaller cities turned to trade places of this interesting drink. In 1693 in London more than 3000 cafes were opened. Cafes became to a place where people concluded trade transactions, doctors and lawers gave advices to their clients etc. Coffee became popular.
